CHECK OUT ALL THAT WE HAVE DONE IN 2023 + OUR VISION FOR 2024

the values

01 — 03

being our true selves, bringing honesty to conversations, discovering more about who we are and what we love – we seek to be a group of women who are truthful, genuine, and vulnerable in all that we do, and create spaces safe enough to share what we are walking though.

empowerment

02 — 03

we seek to combat loneliness and isolation, to create groups of women all over the world who champion one another, and we believe that honest relationships help us grow and deepen our understanding of the world.

authenticity

03 — 03

we want to provide resources, training, and support for women to feel empowered to take on issues around them, to walk in their calling and live out their dreams. We also want women to be empowered to cultivate community wherever they are.

community

we make it easy for women [mostly in their early to mid-careers, when strong, female friendships can be hard to find] to create community wherever they are — we write the questions and content for seasonal events (a few in the spring, one in the summer, a few in the fall). we market the events. we create platforms for women to tell their stories, and learn from other women. we train and support the women leaders as they build community in their city / area .

2017 — 2022

the history

in 2017, [gather] was founded somewhat by accident. after moving to New York City and continuously meeting women who were struggling to find community, as well as a safe spaces to talk about the unique challenges women face, Lauren and the early team decided to create that. they gathered a group of women and hosted an event using intentional conversation to cultivate vulnerability and relationship among women. the day of the event, nearly thirty women were in attendance, hungry for community and conversation, and [gather] was born.

today, [gather] has put on over sixty events in cities across the United States and internationally. the team has written and produced over fifteen distinct series’ and series content, each event as a deep-dive into concepts and topics that breed vulnerability and connection. the girls who gather Podcast has completed three full series, interviewing over thirty leaders in various career backgrounds, from all over the world. there are four fully functional teams across the United States, with more location teams in development, and content disseminated globally. [gather] has partnered with other notable organizations and companies including Outdoor Voices, Amazon, and Shop Multiplicity, launched successful campaigns on various justice issues, and reaches a broad audience of over one thousand women daily.

a note on belief — founded by a group of women who met through a campus ministry and shared a passion for bringing women together — [gather] is a secular organization founded on the belief that God created us for community and with purpose. our team saw that there were very few spaces where women of more than one belief system could come together in organic and vulnerable conversation, and sought to create just that. while many on our team today identify as Christians, and our event themes often come from scriptural influence, [gather] events seek to be a place for everyone of every background and belief.
